Sabah’s Biodiversity Treasures
World Environment Day for the year 2020 fell during the Conditional Movement Control Order phase. Due to limited face to face interactions, our department together with the Sabah Cultural Board, Sabah Arts Gallery, Sabah Wetlands Conservation Society and WWF-Malaysia continued to reach out to the people in Sabah through an online platform to commemorate World Environment Day by organising two competitions namely Photography and Cartoon Drawing Competitions.
The theme of the competitions was “Biodiversity”. The photographs and drawings from the competition showcased in this book present their own stories of love for our Earth and hope that not all is lost.
Sabah’s Environmental Gems
The photographs were compiled from a photography competition during the National Environment Day 2021 whilst the drawings were compilation from two competitions organised by EPD Sabah namely Sekolah Rakan Alam Sekitar (SERASI) Special Award Competition 2021 and World Environment Day Drawing Competition 2021.
