KOTA KINABALU, 06 August 2021 (Daily Express): The Sabah Environment Protection Department has implemented a two-day environmental education programme dubbed “Virtual Environmental Education (EE) Race” for primary and secondary school teachers in Kota Kinabalu and Penampang via Zoom.

The programme, jointly organised with the State Education Department, Wildlife Department, Borneo Sun Bear Conservation Society, Reef Check Malaysia and Pacos Trust, is aimed at encouraging teachers to emphasise on environmental education programmes in schools and create networks between teachers and organisations.

Participants were exposed to several environmental management themes such as wildlife management, marine ecosystem management initiatives and efforts to document traditional knowledge and were tasked to prepare a Home Teaching and Learning Plan (PdPR) based on themes learned throughout the EE Race programme.

The programme was attended by 50 people comprising teachers and facilitators from various organisations.
